This is Kungulu. One of two villages where the Gorilla Habituation Project is happening.

Another shot of the village. They said that about one car a day passes by this road. This is pretty much the heart of the jugle...pretty much.

The Chief of the village (in the hat) with his family. Apparently they don't need women to reproduce.

This is a termite mound. It is about 4 feet high.. and apparently sort of like a gorilla candy bar. When they find them, they smash them open and pick out the goodies inside.

Dinner in the jungle was rice and mushrooms. Yum.. of course I could have eaten deer shit and thought it was great.

I found that the jungle, taken as a whole was overwhelming, and that I found the beauty to be in the details.

This was the bucket of mushrooms. Pretty good haul for a walk in the jungle.

A cute monkey with his asshole. Seriously, this guy was a total asshole.

National Geographic eat your heart out. My monkey even has a dirt booger.

OK.. how's that for a moon. Wow... and this photo is even reduced in size

This is a twig with pretty moss.

This is a branch with pretty moss. I like moss.

This is the campsite. I slept under this very cool.. um, yurt? Is this a yurt?

Flora.

Fauna..

actually, this was one of the 'pisteurs', or gorilla trackers. He used the old leaf cup trick to drink. Poseur... a real tracker would have just stuck his face in the stream.

This is a fish trap... they mostly catch this catfish type bottom feeder, and then smoke it. It is pretty good.

Another photo of a kid.

Another kid.. oh, did I mention these are Baka? Pygmies... children.

What is it with me and mushrooms?
